The Ministry of Justice changes one in five computers each year
The IT centre of the judicial administration is responsible for coordinating the judicial system's 12,000 work stations and 10,000 users. The helpdesk receives 16,000 inquiries annually. Around one fifth of the computers are upgraded each year. Based on the existing contract, Businessforum has received the task of delivering 2,500 IBM desktop work stations, monitors, and software licenses by March next year. It will also pre-install the machines and equip them with security markings according to the client's pre-installation alternatives. When purchasing the new work stations, the IT centre of the judicial administration took advantage of the framework agreements of the Finnish government's central procurement unit Hansel for the first time. - Previously, we arranged competitive bidding ourselves for all work station purchases. By virtue of the framework agreements, we were able to save time and resources, director Ari Nieminen says. Nieminen gives Businessforum a positive assessment for their cooperation. The deliveries of the work stations have proceeded according to agreed schedules and plans. - Scheduling, clear invoicing, and the ability to adapt to our operating model build the foundation for successful cooperation, Nieminen states. Businessforum is one of the suppliers covered by Hansel's framework agreements. It is the only supplier that provides all the product groups that are subject to competitive bidding - PCs, laptops, servers, printers, data projectors, and active network devices.
